    • February 15th, 2014 (JAEPO 2014)
    • May 30th, 2014 - June 1st, 2014
  • Release date: June 25th, 2014
  • Soundtrack release dates:
    • original soundtrack Vol.1: December 24th, 2014
    • original soundtrack Vol.2: July 29th, 2015

General Information / Changes

  • Theme: school.
  • "Lapistoria" is a portmanteau of the Latin words "lapis" (meaning gem or stone) and "historia".
  • First arcade pop'n music game with a promotional animated movie.
    • MZD, FUGA, HIUMI, RETSU, RINKA, nia, and toa all appear in the original trailer. (Nyami and Mimi later appeared in an updated version of the opening in the final version of the game.)
    • FUGA, HIUMI, RETSU, RINKA are also featured on the title screen. The pop'n music ラピストリア marquee also shows them along with Mimi and Nyami.
    • The portrait designs of most of the new and returning characters for the new ラピストリア songs have changed to the same art style as the anime opening (the animation sprites retain the same design style as older games, though).
    • The new character design portraits show visible signs when they lose or win, with the loser shrunken a bit in the background and colored in dark blue.
  • Scoring ratio was changed from 10:5:1:0 to 10:7:4:0 for COOL:GREAT:GOOD:BAD respectively.
    • Despite the change on the scoring ratio, the old scores were carried over.
  • None of the new ラピストリア songs have genres.
    • Genres of the old pop'n music songs were kept intact, though. As such, genre sorting on the songwheel is only available for folders with returning songs.
  • No logos appear behind the colored lanes during gameplay anymore.
  • None of the new ラピストリア characters initially had 2P colors until they were unlocked on November 21st, 2014 (though they were temporarily unlocked for a bit earlier in late October 2014 due to a bug that was later fixed).
  • The song selection screen's layout was changed: the songwheel only has the song banners on them, with the song artist below the banners.
  • Music Comments were removed.
  • Song backgrounds were removed. Instead, generic animated backdrops are used.
  • Licenses no longer have pages on the official web site.
  • The Options screen was changed:
    • Eight options can be set now: HI-SPEED, POP-KUN, GAUGE TYPE, RANDOM, HIDDEN, SUDDEN, OJAMA 1 and OJAMA 2.
    • HI-SPEED can now be increased/decreased by 0.1 amounts, instead of 0.5 amounts like previous releases.
      • It also displays which will be the new BPM after applying the chosen HI-SPEED.
        • New HI-SPEED options can now go up to 10X.
    • GAUGE TYPE can be set as EASY (half damage), NORMAL, HARD (double damage) or DANGER (1 BAD drains your entire gauge).
    • HIDDEN/SUDDEN are now togglable in-game by pressing the 0/00 buttons of the numeric keypad, respectively.
    • Several OJAMAs have been removed. See this BEMANIWiki 2nd page for more details.
  • Game Over was removed: now you can fail any stage and continue playing.
  • EXTRA STAGE is now PASELI-only. EXTRA STAGE is accessed by collecting the E-X-T-R-A letters. You get one letter each time you clear a song.
  • pop'n Aura (ポップンオーラ) was introduced. By playing songs, getting good scores on them, using certain OJAMAs and/or playing with PASELI, your pop'n Aura grade will increase. Higher pop'n Aura grades lets you play EX charts and some exclusive songs.
    • You can also play EX charts and the pop'n Aura exclusive songs on the EXTRA STAGE, without needing pop'n Aura grades.
  • LOCAL mode was added on September 11th, 2014.
  • COURSE mode returned on December 22nd, 2014, making ラピストリア the first pop'n music game since pop'n music 17 THE MOVIE with courses.
    • If one uses PASELI, it's possible to continue playing even if their gauge is empty, though the game will mark the course as failed.
  • Result screens now informs you if you went over or under your previous record in a song on the bottom right corner of the screen.
  • First pop'n music game since pop'n music 5 with no new song composed or arranged by Tsugumi Kataoka on the songlist.
  • First pop'n music game since pop'n music 9 with no new pop'n music original TOMOSUKE song on the songlist.
  • First pop'n music game since pop'n music 14 FEVER! with no pop'n music original L.E.D. song.
  • First pop'n music game since pop'n music 14 FEVER! to not feature a Sota Fujimori song on the default songlist.
  • First arcade pop'n music game website since pop'n music 10's to not have any preview music clips for any songs, licenses and KONAMI originals alike.
    • It is also the first pop'n music website since pop'n music 5's to not contain any staff comments on any songs, aside from Harmonia and Anelis.
  • All the hidden songs from pop'n music Sunny Park that weren't unlocked at some point in that game are still hidden. If you didn't unlock them in Sunny Park, you'll have to unlock them in ラピストリア via Story Mode.
  • eAMUSEMENT support for pop'n music ラピストリア ended on August 1st, 2016.

PON no unmei jouka keikaku (PONの運命浄化計画)

The PON no unmei jouka keikaku (PONの運命浄化計画) event started on December 24th, 2014, to commemorate the release of the Power Of Nature album. To unlock the event songs, you must obtain the different attributes of the "powers of nature" (自然の力). By increasing the attributes, you also increase the fate purification probability.

Then, by accessing the event website (which can be found here), you can press the "fate purification challenge" (運命浄化チャレンジ) button. If the purification is successful, you will unlock the song.

To unlock these crossovers, you must obtain different purification powers. Each purification power can be obtained from the game series where the song originated. Once the Ice, Fire, Wind and Flower powers are obtained, 彼女は快刀乱麻 can be unlocked using Fate Purification (運命浄化).

This event ended on October 26th, 2015.
