=== LEGEND CROSS === | = LEGEND CROSS (tricoro / RED) = | ||
tricoro's first color unlock event, LEGEND CROSS system, began on October 10th, 2012. The LEGEND CROSS boss songs are mash-ups of songs from their respective versions. LEGEND CROSS originals have a red background bar on the songwheel menu. e-amusement is required to play the event. | |||
The goal of the event is to collect "Astran shines", which are divided among NORMAL, HYPER, and ANOTHER difficulties. Astran shines cannot be obtained when playing with two players. Astran is tied to the difficulty level used on. Acquired Astran can be checked on the e-AMUSEMENT gate DJ DATA for tricoro. | |||
You must meet certain requirements pertaining to a certain musical style to access the EXTRS STAGEs. Only by completing the required styles' requirements can you unlock that song on EXTRA STAGE. | |||

Once you obtain the requirements for any matching pair of songs, you can unlock that song for play on EXTRA STAGE by meeting EXTRA STAGE requirements and playing songs only from that respective game's folder. (For example, if you want to play rumrum triplets, you must play a set of either 6th style or 8th style songs on the same credit.) The LEGEND CROSS folder will then be available on EXTRA STAGE, and a warning screen will be displayed when selected. The player will be locked on the folder once it is opened, and will remain in the event screen until the stage is played. | |||
Inside the LEGEND CROSS folder you can select a boss song by choosing any boss number. Each boss has both halves (Old x New, and New x Old) to destroy, determined by the set of songs played for the EXTRA STAGE (for example, to defeat CONCEPTUAL's boss, players must first play a set of GOLD songs (for Old x New) in one credit, then Lincle in the next credit (for New x Old).) The player will acquire crystals for the selected difficulty), which have to be obtained depending on the half destroyed in order (Old x New, or New x Old). When playing on the Old x New sequence, RANDOM must not be used, whereas in the New x Old sequence, RANDOM must be used (for Double play, RANDOM is not mandatory, though can be used for one side only; FLIP is also allowed). ASSIST, MIRROR and S-RANDOM modifiers cannot be used om either play style. | |||
These conditions to obtain the songs are: | |||

Once all ten crystals are obtained for the selected difficulty, a hidden sixth song, Thor's Hammer, can be selected in the LEGEND CROSS folder by holding down the EFFECT button. To access Plan 8 as the ONE MORE EXTRA STAGE, the player has to fulfill the same clearing conditions above (FLIP will be disabled when playing it). Playing Plan 8 will cost half of your crystals (New x Old) for that particular difficulty played, and you must reacquire the crystals again to play it again. If the player clears the song, Plan 8 can be played on EXTRA STAGE by holding both EFFECT and VEFX buttons, though it will still cost crystals. | |||
In addition to the above seven songs, two CS crossovers can also be obtained during the event by meeting certain requirements. Time to Empress can be unlocked by finishing one of the sets of requirements for the boss songs, and mnemoniq can be unlocked defeating one of the bosses on both the top and bottom halves. | |||
LEGEND CROSS ended on December 5th, 2012. Please see the tricoro Devil and Angel Card unlocks page regarding unlocking its songs for normal play. | |||

== | = Ω-ATTACK (tricoro / BLUE) = | ||
tricoro's second color unlock event, Ω-ATTACK, began on December 12th, 2012. It a post-credit mini-game involing clearing viruses from a network. It will not be shown if two players are playing. Ω-ATTACK originals have a blue background bar on the songwheel menu. e-amusement is required to play the event. | |||
To unlock the songs in Ω-ATTACK, you need to acquire CP (code points). CP can be obtained in any game mode after a credit except for the first time you play. You will play until you either press START or run out of time. | |||
To move around the map, you use the turntable to choose a direction and then press the black keys to move. You start off at CODE LEVEL 1 (maxing out at 9) with 0 CP, with a maximum cap of 100. As you progress, you can level up your CODE LEVEL to attack viruses across the map, which also increase the amount of CP you can hold. Defeating viruses unlocks DELLAR, song charts, and even weapons. There are also warp pads that you can use to warp around between areas and both SECTORs. | |||
Occassionally you'll be stopped by a gate. To open the gate, you need to get all seven KEY PROGRAMs in each SECTOR. Unlocking the gate in SECTOR-A allows you to get トリカゴノ鳳凰 and proceed on to SECTOR-B. SECTOR-B's KEY PROGRAMs, once obtained, allows you to obtain the final boss song Proof of the existence. You can continue afterwards across the map to destroy blank squares, but they only reward you with DELLAR. | |||
You have four weapons you can use on your journey, though you only start off with 1WAY. | |||
* 1WAY: initial weapon. It attacks one square adjacent to the open square for Lv.1. Uses 1 CP. | |||
* 3WAY: obtained in SECTOR-A. Attacks selected and adjacent squares on both sides of it by Lv.1. Uses 2 CP. | |||
* LASER: obtained in SECTOR-B. Attack four straight lines for Lv.1. You can attack distant cells not connected to the land as well. Uses 3 CP. | |||
* BOMB: obtained in SECTOR-B. Opens up six squares regardless of square level. Uses 4 CP. | |||
To unlock charts, you will need to be at certain levels to unlock them. They are as follows: | |||
* SECTOR-A: | |||
** 仮想空間の旅人たち: level 1 (NORMAL/HYPER), level 2 (ANOTHER) | |||
** 8bit Princess: level 1 (NORMAL), level 2 (HYPER/ANOTHER) | |||
** トリカゴノ鳳凰: level 2 (all charts) | |||
** Reflection Into the EDEN: level 2 (NORMAL/ANOTHER), level 1 (HYPER) | |||
* SECTOR-B: | |||
** planarian, Tp-RZ, 龍と少女とデコヒーレンス, たまゆら: level 1 (NORMAL), level 2 (HYPER), level 3 (ANOTHER) | |||
** Proof of the existence: level 3 (all charts) | |||
Unlocking all the songs on both SECTOR-A and SECTOR-B awards you a Golden Tran Medal, but does not end the event. | |||
Ω-ATTACK ended on March 20th, 2013. Please see the tricoro Devil and Angel Card unlocks page regarding unlocking its songs for normal play. | |||

== | = OUR SPACE WAR (tricoro / YELLOW) = | ||
tricoro's third and final color unlock event, OUR SPACE WAR (ぼくらの宇宙戦争), began on March 21st, 2013. It is a post-credit RPG-style mini-game that involves defeating alien bosses in order to unlock new songs. It will not appear if two players are playing. ぼくらの宇宙戦争 originals have a yellow background bar on the songwheel menu. e-amusement is required to play the event. | |||
After completing a credit of play, you choose one of four space monsters to fight. The space monster has a health icon, and the amount of damage done to it increases in the order blue, then yellow, then red. The damage you do to the enemy depends on the time of day you attack it; please see BEMANIWiki 2nd for more details on these times. A Monster's HP is displayed on the top of the screen, HEROIC GAUGE is displayed on the bottom left, and CRITICAL GAUGE is displayed at the bottom corner of the screen. | |||
With each attack, the HP of the monster will decrease according to the damage done, and increases the HEROIC GAUGE and CRITICAL GAUGE. For each third of the HP you deplete from a monster, you will earn its charts in the order of NORMAL, HYPER, and ANOTHER. Increasing the HEROIC GAUGE by each third also unlocks a chart of the chapter's corresponding CS song in that order. CRITICAL GAUGE, when full, allows one to use a special attack, shown as a cut-in animation with your Q-Pro. This increases the damage you do by double, but also completely depletes the gauge. Your ATTACK LEVEL will also increase after a CRITICAL GAUGE attack (50 is the max level). Once both regular bosses in a chapter are defeated, you can then fight the big boss of that chapter. Once all six bosses from both chapters are defeated (plus the HEROIC GAUGE songs are obtained), you will then fight the final chapter boss. Defeating the final chapter boss ends the event. | |||
Bronze Tran Medals are awarded for unlocking Boss #1, 2, 5, and 6 and the HEROIC GAUGE songs' NORMAL and HYPER charts, while Silver Tran Medals are awarded for their ANOTHER charts. Silver Tran Medals are also awarded for unlocking the NORMAL and HYPER charts of Boss #3 #6, and #7, with Gold Tran Medals awarded for unlocking their ANOTHER charts. | |||

General Information / Changes
- tricoro is a combination of tri(angle) and color, in reference to the game's triple color scheme of red, blue, and yellow.
- The three events across tricoro also reference each respective color in this order.
- Fittingly, the color scheme also corresponds to the colors for ANOTHER, NORMAL and HYPER, respectively.
- First beatmania IIDX game in HD, running in 1280x720 resolution. Frames for styles prior to this game have been remastered to HD as well.
- First beatmania IIDX game under KONAMI's eAMUSEMENT Participation system; if the game cannot connect to an eAMUSEMENT network, it will not start up.
- Gameplay interface is overhauled.
- First beatmania IIDX game to have the video window be in 4:3 aspect ratio.
- In Single, if there is only one player present, and the opposite side column is not being used for TARGET SCORE, it will be removed to display the background video at a larger size.
- Changes to the results screen:
- Results screen pics return.
- Notecounts no longer shown on song results.
- Music now plays on result screens.
- The difficulty and level of the song you played are displayed.
- All version folders, including ALL BEMANI, now uses its respective game logos, replacing the traditional text display previously used in the past versions.
- New songs have black backgrounds with yellow text, as opposed to having white backgrounds. Old songs retain the traditional white text for returning songs.
- All old songs now use the Commador Wide Normal font as well on the splash screen before a song (except those with unique title cards).
- First beatmania IIDX arcade game since their respective debuts with no new songs by DJ Mass MAD Izm*, DJ Command, or PRASTIK DANCEFLOOR.
- First beatmania IIDX game since Seiya Murai's debut with no new song by him on the default song list.
- First beatmania IIDX arcade game since beatmania IIDX 12 HAPPY SKY with no new licenses.
- Make A Difference, SABER WING, sakura storm, Sweet Sweet ♡ Magic, and 桜 now have their videos from the DanceDanceRevolution series.
- Modifier selection is overhauled:
- ASSIST option screen is offered by default; only ASSIST modifiers can be selected on this screen (EASY, 5KEYS, AUTO SCRATCH, and LEGACY NOTE).
- A more traditional modifier screen is also available, divided into four categories ((STYLE, GAUGE, ASSIST, and RANGE)), the first three of which can be cycled up and down by using the top and bottom key rows respectively.
- A new options screen, called "ADVANCED OPTIONS", is introduced for selecting a ghost type, and options previously only accessible through codes (JUDGE among others).
- You can cycle through these options screens with the Effect Change and VEFX buttons.
- H-RANDOM was added again as an option since its removal in SIRIUS. It would be removed again in EPOLIS.
- HIDDEN, SUDDEN, HID+SUD, and SUDDEN+ TYPE B options have been removed.
- First arcade beatmania IIDX game to allow the player to change the timing offset.
- HI-SPEED can now only be changed by holding Start in-game; it is no longer available from the modifier screen.
- HI-SPEED range is now 0.5 to 4.0, and values now correspond to the speed multiplier applied to chart, meaning HS 1.0 is equivalent to no HI-SPEED in previous IIDX games. (Multiplier values for HI-SPEED mods in previous versions can be found here.)
- With floating HI-SPEED enabled (by pressing the Effects button), you can set HI-SPEED with the turntable in .01 increments from 0.5 to 10.0. Doing so in conjunction with an active SUDDEN+ and/or LIFT will cause the lane cover to adjust in order to maintain the current green number.
- Floating HI-SPEED is not available without switching out of the beginner option screen.
- Should the song change tempo, holding Start and then moving the turntable will correct the Hi-SPEED setting to match the original green number.
- With floating HI-SPEED disabled, you can increase and decrease HI-SPEED by .5 increments with the black and white keys respectively within the same range.
- This is the first release since 6th style CS to feature LOW-SPEED.
- You can now switch the score graph and movie's locations by pressing the Start button on the side opposite the one you are playing on.
- The current beatmania IIDX font for a note combo is first used in this game, replacing the font used from 9th style to Lincle.
- Players can now see how they rank on a specific song against other players in the same arcade.
- Today's Featured Songs introduced. Every day three songs are marked as "featured", and playing them rewards you bonus DELLAR. The featured songs are chosen under a certain criteria which changes weekly every Wednesday.
- EXTRA STAGE is renamed to LIMIT BURST. Only the first LIMIT BURST song, Sol Cosine Job 2, is an original song; all others are BEMANI crossovers from other BEMANI titles.
- First beatmania IIDX game with no EXPERT mode.
- Various older songs had their overlays removed from their videos due to the overhauled interface. Specifically, overlays that have their corner lower left and right cropped to fit in the interface of the older styles. Full list here.
- STEP UP mode has received revamps:
- Players are now given a dynamic song list which varies after each song, with the difficulty depending on result and its starting difficulty tier.
- A Review folder is added, which adds songs played on STEP UP and STANDARD modes each time a new song was played. These folders do not progress towards STEP UP, but its suitable for training as these songs can be repeated in the same credit.
- BEGINNER charts (level is rated in kanji) are classified under one of the first 3 difficulty levels.
- Completing certain tasks awards Q-Pro parts for customization.
- The Vol.1 soundtrack is the first beatmania IIDX soundtrack to receive a digital release outside of Japan.
- Some of the tracks on the international version of the soundtrack are tagged differently from their counterparts in the Japanese version.
- First beatmania IIDX game to feature a storyline explained throughout the main game events. The Lincle Kingdom and Lincle Princess events from Lincle are considered canon to this story.
- First beatmania IIDX game to have different layers for BGM, adding more instruments on the transitions as you progress through the menus.
- System BGM is composed by 猫叉Master.
- System voice is provided by a friend of his, while a different menu voice is provided by ALT.
- First beatmania IIDX game released in Korea since beatstage II 2nd style.
- eAMUSEMENT support for beatmania IIDX 20 tricoro ended on December 27th, 2013.
- Total songs: 787

LIMIT BURST
beatmania IIDX 20 tricoro's EXTRA STAGE system is titled LIMIT BURST. Except for Sol Cosine Job 2, all these songs are previous boss songs from BEMANI games that had never crossed over to beatmania IIDX before. These songs are:

DanceDanceRevolution X2 | New Decade IIDX Edition | October 17th, 2012 | All three stages must be DanceDanceRevolution crossovers. (Playing 革命, Fascination MAXX and PARANOiA ~HADES~ in one playthrough will default to Sol Cosine Job 2, as these crossovers are also previous ONE MORE EXTRA STAGE songs.) |
pop'n music 15 ADVENTURE | neu | October 31st, 2012 | All three stages must be pop'n music crossovers. |
REFLEC BEAT | Hollywood Galaxy | November 21st, 2012 | All three stages must be REFLEC BEAT BEMANI crossovers. (Stay my side cannot fulfill the condition.) |

To access LIMIT BURST, in addition to requiring the EXTRA STAGE to be unlocked, the first three stages must consist of songs from a specific subset of songs. Each song has four different phases of unlock condition; charts are unlocked on weekly phases. Each phase also has a minimum total difficulty and clear status requirement, aside from the fourth phase. The conditions to access LIMIT BURST are based on the Phase it is in:
Phase | NORMAL | HYPER | ANOTHER | |||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Total Level | Clear Lamp | Total Level | Clear Lamp | Total Level | Clear Lamp | |

From February 18th, 2013 onward, you can permanently unlock LIMIT BURST songs with DELLAR. If you already played the songs before, you can buy them cheaper with Devil Cards; otherwise you need to use the more expensive Angel Cards. LEGEND CROSS (tricoro / RED)
tricoro's first color unlock event, LEGEND CROSS system, began on October 10th, 2012.
Song | Style | Number | Conditions |
---|---|---|---|
SYNC-ANTHEM | IIDX RED | 1 | Obtain a Silver Tran Medal for completing the first year of STEP UP. |
Resort Anthem | 6 | Obtain a EX SCORE of 573 on one song. | |
ΕΛΠΙΣ | 2nd style | 2 | Obtain DJ POINT Tran Medals for NORMAL (1000), HYPER (2000), and ANOTHER (3000) (Single and Double have to be done separately.) |
10th style | 7 | Floating HI-SPEED must be set to 5.73 for one song. | |
rumrum triplets | 6th style | 3 | Obtain a Bronze Tran Medal by completing five different days of Today's Featured Songs. |
8th style | 8 | Play a song while setting the target score graph with "PACEMAKER ---%" to 57.3 (by entering in the order of "5", "7", and then "3" on the numeric keypad in order). | |
S!ck | DistorteD | 4 | Obtain a Dan/Class Tran Medal. |
DJ TROOPERS | 9 | Play/finish a song using SUDDEN+/HIDDEN+/HID-SUD+, with the green number set at 573. | |
CONCEPTUAL | GOLD | 5 | Obtain Tran Medals for playing one song in each game folder depending on the difficulty you want to unlock a chart. (substream does not have a Tran Medal.) |
Lincle | 10 | During a credit, select songs with the final number in each song featuring the following numbers: 5 for 1ST STAGE, 7 for 2ND STAGE, and 3 for FINAL STAGE. | |
Thor's Hammer | UNKNOWN | Clear the first five aforementioned songs in a Old x New (1 to 5) or New x Old (6 to 10) sequence (see below for conditions), then hold the EFFECT button. | |
Plan 8 | Clear Plan 8 ob ONE MORE EXTRA STAGE. To access the song as EXTRA STAGE, both EFFECT and VEFX buttons have to be held. (Playing Plan 8 will cost crystals 6-10 for the difficulty selected.) |
These conditions to obtain the songs are:
Phase | NORMAL | HYPER | ANOTHER | |||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
DJ Level | Clear Lamp | DJ Level | Clear Lamp | DJ Level | Clear Lamp | |
Phase 1 | unavailable | AAA | EX HARD CLEAR or better | |||
Phase 2 | unavailable | A or better | HARD CLEAR or better | AA or better | HARD CLEAR or better | |
Phase 3 | C or better | EASY CLEAR or better | B or better | EASY CLEAR or better | A or better | EASY CLEAR or better |

Ω-ATTACK (tricoro / BLUE)
tricoro's second color unlock event, Ω-ATTACK, began on December 12th, 2012.
- 1WAY: initial weapon. It attacks one square adjacent to the open square for Lv.1. Uses 1 CP.
- 3WAY: obtained in SECTOR-A. Attacks selected and adjacent squares on both sides of it by Lv.1. Uses 2 CP.
- LASER: obtained in SECTOR-B. Attack four straight lines for Lv.1. You can attack distant cells not connected to the land as well. Uses 3 CP.
- BOMB: obtained in SECTOR-B. Opens up six squares regardless of square level. Uses 4 CP.
To unlock charts, you will need to be at certain levels to unlock them. They are as follows:
- SECTOR-A:
- 仮想空間の旅人たち: level 1 (NORMAL/HYPER), level 2 (ANOTHER)
- 8bit Princess: level 1 (NORMAL), level 2 (HYPER/ANOTHER)
- トリカゴノ鳳凰: level 2 (all charts)
- Reflection Into the EDEN: level 2 (NORMAL/ANOTHER), level 1 (HYPER)
- SECTOR-B:
- planarian, Tp-RZ, 龍と少女とデコヒーレンス, たまゆら: level 1 (NORMAL), level 2 (HYPER), level 3 (ANOTHER)
- Proof of the existence: level 3 (all charts)
Unlocking all the songs on both SECTOR-A and SECTOR-B awards you a Golden Tran Medal, but does not end the event.
Ω-ATTACK ended on March 20th, 2013. Please see the tricoro Devil and Angel Card unlocks page regarding unlocking its songs for normal play.

OUR SPACE WAR (tricoro / YELLOW)
tricoro's third and final color unlock event, OUR SPACE WAR (ぼくらの宇宙戦争), began on March 21st, 2013.
