The | ''Spada†leggendaria'' is SPADA's EXTRA STAGE system, which began on November 20th, 2013. The unlock method is mostly based on the ''LIMIT BURST'' event from [[AC tricoro|beatmania IIDX 20 tricoro]]. From April 23rd, 2014 onwards, it can only accessed on Premium Play on Japanese machines, which requires PASELI. | ||
As the title implies, ''Spada†leggendaria'' contain songs with the artist named after a legendary sword from mythological or fantasy tales. These songs, along with the unlocking conditions, are: | |||

The first three are triggered weekly, while the fourth and final phase, and subsequently the first phase of the next song, is unlocked on the first day of the following month not on a Saturday or Sunday. Each phase also has a minimum total difficulty requirement and minimum clear status requirement, aside from the fourth phase. = Qprogue = | |||
''Qprogue'' is SPADA's unlock event, introduced on December 25th, 2013 and ended on September 17th, 2014. It follows the events of ''ぼくらの宇宙戦争'' (Our War of the Worlds) from [[AC tricoro|beatmania IIDX 20 tricoro]], where Q-pro finds itself in a hostile world after accidentally entering the Legend Cross portal. The event will not occur if two players played on the credit. e-amusement is required to play the event. | |||
In Qprogue, you control your Q-pro character on a map by using the commands of the numerical keypad or the white and black buttons to move around, perform, or cancel an action. You are free to go anywhere until the time runs out or until you press START. Pressing the VEFX button switches maps. | |||
Your objective is to destroy enemies and raid temples in order to proceed further in the maps. As you go, you'll level up and find new weapon classes. To perform any special action, you need stamina, which is credit-based: one credit gives you 100 points of stamina, worth a full stamina bar, and you can have a maximum of ten. Stamina obtained per credit increases by five points for every two Q-pro levels, up to 28; the maximum amount of stamina obtainable per credit is 165. You can obtain three extra stamina bars if you access Qprogue mini-game with a DJ VIP PASS BLACK (PASELI only). | |||
To defeat enemies, you need to take their HP down to zero, with damage mainly depending on the level of your Q-pro. Attacks on enemies are rewarded with bonus DELLAR. | |||
There are eight weapon classes in all, each one doing specific bonus damage or special abilities: | |||
* | * Traveler - default class. Once the Rainbow Knight class is obtained, you cannot use this anymore. | ||
* Fighter - deals bonus Fire damage. | |||
* Knight - deals bonus Earth damage, and required for using pickaxes to break rocks. | |||
* Viking - deals bonus Water damage, and required to cross bodies of water between docks. | |||
* Archer - deals Wind damage. | |||
* Assassin - deals Dark damage. | |||
* Cleric - deals Holy damage. | |||
* Rainbow Knight - all elements. Deals 40 points of damage per hit. Obtained when you find all six Lithography items; replaces the Traveler class. | |||
Weapon classes start at Level 1 and can be go up to 4 (MAX) by using Fountains; each can only be used once. As of Qprogue DX, you can only use the Lithography tablets to level up classes. Unlike the Fountains, these items raise to Level MAX a weapon class related to the element of the map. | |||
You can cycle throughout classes by pressing the EFFECT button. You get a Bronze Tran Medal when you find a new weapon class (and when you level any of them once), Silver when you find all weapon classes (as well as another one for raising a weapon class to MAX), and Gold for getting all eight classes maxed out. | |||
Elemental weaknesses of monsters are color coded: | |||
* | * Grey: no weaknesses. | ||
* Blue: weak to Fire. | |||
* Yellow: weak to Wind. | |||
* Green: weak to Earth. | |||
* Red: weak to Water. | |||
* Purple: weak to Holy. | |||
* White: weak to Dark. | |||
You can also find the following on the map: | |||

Charts for boss songs are dropped by unique enemies found in fixed positions. These ones have much higher HP than normal enemies, depending on which difficulty chart they hold. Entering a Castle requires a credit, and the mini-game itself occurs on the next session. It consists of playing a specific snippet of a chart from a preset group of songs, depending on the creature you are facing. The chart is chosen randomly by a roulette at the beginning of every battle. Charts are only played on Single with no speed mods/modifiers. The difficulty of the chart depends on the average of what levels have been played in the game session: | ||
* NORMAL: level average less than 9. | |||
* HYPER: level average less than 11. | |||
* ANOTHER: level average of 11 or 12. | |||

Once you begin fighting the creature, you cannot leave until you defeat it. How much damage you do depends on your overall performance. Each note hit increases the GROOVE GAUGE by about 10%, with each hit hurting the creature (a FULL COMBO does more damage), whose health is displayed below the movie window of the song. Once it's fully drained, you unlock a song and return to the map. Stamina is neither consumed or obtained when in Castles. | |||

On April 30th, 2014, the old Qprogue maps were replaced with the expanded Qprogue DX. If you didn't unlock the previous Qprogue songs, you'll find them on Maps DX-1, DX-2 and DX-3. All six Qprogue DX mini-maps can be accessed at any time. The layout of the six Qprogue DX mini-maps form the word "BEMANI!". The seventh and final Qprogue DX mini-map, which is shaped like a sword, can only be accessed once ''all'' of the Lithography items have been found on the first six mini-maps. | |||
Completing Qprogue rewards you 10100 DELLAR, the weapon classes' items as Q-pro parts and, lastly, a Plantinum Tran Medal. | |||

- Slogan: 鍵士とは、叩っ斬ることと みつけたり。 (kenshi to wa, tatakkiru kototo mitsuketari.)
- Soundtrack release dates:

- beatmania IIDX 21 SPADA ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK VOL.2: August 27th, 2014
General Information / Changes
- Theme: medieval and swords
- When playing individually, it is now possible to sort between Single and Double charts in STANDARD/FREE/HAZARD on any stage by pressing 3 on the keypad. Likewise, Double play is no longer double priced, much like DanceDanceRevolution's Joint Premium feature.
- STEP UP and CLASS are not allowed, however.
- The Single/Double selection window still appears before selecting game modes for RIVAL setting purposes, as switching between Single and Double does not switch rival settings.
- New songs are in a violet font.
- SPADA is Italian for "sword".
- SPADA is the first game since Resort Anthem where its initial location test was not held in April, and the first to have its location test more than a year after the last one (tricoro on April 2012).
- SPADA is also the first beatmania IIDX game since Resort Anthem not released in September.
- SPADA is the first beatmania IIDX game to have its OST release date announced prior to the game's release.
- The first OST and the game have the shortest gap between releases of any beatmania IIDX game.
- SPADA's title music is currently the longest one in a beatmania IIDX game at 1:33.
- The default announcer voice is provided by Project B-. The announcer may react negatively should the wrong password be inputted upon insertion of the eAMUSEMENT pass.
- The default system BGM is composed by 猫叉Master.
- "MY FAVORITE" category folder is added, which contains the player's favorite songs by pressing the VEFX button during the result screen of the song you have played.
- Songs in this category will have a special image tag next to the title in the result screen.
- The feature saves the specific difficulty of a song. You can still select difficulties in the category folder.
- Up to 20 songs can be registered.
- The 1 button on the numeric keypad now changes difficulties, other than the VEFX one.
- The 2 button on the numeric keypad opens the song sorting window, other than the black key.
- With the 2 button it's possible to sort songs when a category folder is open.
- Sort types VERSION, BPM, DIFFICULTY TYPE and MY BEST are removed.
- Logos of beatmania IIDX games appear next to the genres of their respective songs.
- Result screen has been overhauled:
- Mode type (Single/Double), difficulty name and difficulty rating are displayed below the Rank.
- COMBO BREAKS are now counted.
- Amount of FAST/SLOW notes gathered in a song is now always displayed, instead of being a hidden viewable feature.
- If you fail a song on HARD/EX-HARD or by failing out, the chart measure and note number you lost on will be shown, known as the DEAD POINT.
- Notecounts are now shown again in the result screen.
- Money score no longer displays.
- DJ RANK shown is written in a new font whose color varies by grade:
- AAA: gold
- AA: silver
- A and B: green
- C to F: blue
- The DJ rank gauge, which is always seen in the game menu, now too appears in the ranking section for each player. Its color also varies depending on the clear lamp.
- Stage number is now in a much bigger font.
- Changes to the gameplay UI:
- The difficulty level of the song is now shown next to the difficulty name.
- The GROOVE GAUGE appears closer to the buttons/scratch lane.
- MAX COMBO, score, and BPM are now correctly arranged when the score graph is turned off.
- Max COMBO and score are arranged on the top layer when the score graph is turned on.
- Stage information appears in the middle of the top layer.
- During Double play, Hi-SPEED and difficulty information have switched places with MAX COMBO and score.
- Pre-tricoro songs with overlays now have their movie windows cropped to fit the proper dimensions, instead of having black bars at the sides.
- Result screen artwork was absent until December 11th, 2013.
- Platinum Tran medals have been added.
- As such, a few achievements which previously award as Gold are now changed to Platinum. This also applies to event completion achievement as well.
- Difficulty selection in STEP UP mode is strictly tied to your DAN rank now.
- All the hidden tricoro songs are still hidden, and are unlocked with Tran medals.
- They could also be unlocked through the 発見!よみがえったBEMANI遺跡 event when it started.
- The Lincle Link 5 event ended on May 14th, 2014. The songs, including the Lincle Link 1 ones, are instantly unlocked if an eAMUSEMENT PASS is used.
- First beatmania IIDX since their debuts where Seiya Murai and Qrispy Joybox don't appear in a game's new song list.
- First beatmania IIDX arcade game since Ryu☆'s debut where he doesn't compose any new songs for the game under his primary alias.
- First beatmania IIDX game since EMPRESS with no BEMANI crossovers on the default song list.
- First beatmania IIDX arcade game since HAPPY SKY to not revive any old beatmania IIDX songs.
- First beatmania IIDX game to have an unlock event, named Spada†leggendaria, with songs exclusively made by commissioned artists.
- LEGGENDARIA difficulty level introduced. It can only be accessed with PASELI.
- A folder, "LEGGENDARIA" is added, which contain charts containing the "†LEGGENDARIA" (future games with simply "†") monikers, with a magenta color font. These charts are generally a more difficult variant of ANOTHER charts.
- It was first introduced in the console release of DJ TROOPERS as Black ANOTHER charts.
- These charts separate from other folders and played as ANOTHER. These changes remain until the difficulty's inclusion beginning HEROIC VERSE.
- First beatmania IIDX game to have doors for gameplay transitions, similar to DanceDanceRevolution series.
- PASELI features, accessed through collectibles named V-Discs, have been added to STANDARD and STEPUP modes on April 23rd, 2014.
- Coin users won't be able to access EXTRA STAGE or level 11/12 charts on STEPUP mode.
- For each PASELI play session, you obtain seven V-Discs. Seven are needed to access EXTRA STAGE.
- During EXTRA Stage, the player can access the LEGGENDARIA folder, containing Spada†leggendaria songs and along with more difficult ANOTHER charts. Selecting a song from this folder requires six V-Discs.
- Six V-Discs can be used to avoid a Game Over.
- V-Discs do not carry over after each play session, as it will be added into a counter. When the player accumulate 100 V-Discs, the VIP PASS BLACK feature is automatically enabled. It allows you to always avoid Game Overs and the ability to play the same song over and over in a play session.
- With PASELI, you can use your final beatmania IIDX 20 tricoro scores as a pacemaker ghost.
- With PASELI, Dellar obtained from play sessions is multiplied by 1.5.
- The changes are only present in the Japanese version of the game, since Asian and South Korean versions do not support PASELI.
- Key sound volume is now lowered when two players are playing.
- First beatmania IIDX game since 6th style not to feature a ONE MORE EXTRA STAGE.
- Songs with generic videos and no unique overlays no longer credit the original VJ on the official website pages for a song in the NEW SONGS category. This has carried over to all future games' websites as well.
- When SPADA was released, its version code dated back to October 2nd, 2013 instead of the release date itself.
- eAMUSEMENT support for beatmania IIDX 21 SPADA ended on October 31st, 2014.
- Total songs: 854 (plus four LEGGENDARIA charts)

Spada†leggendaria
Spada†leggendaria is SPADA's EXTRA STAGE system, which began on November 20th, 2013. The unlock method is mostly based on the LIMIT BURST event from beatmania IIDX 20 tricoro. From April 23rd, 2014 onwards, it can only accessed on Premium Play on Japanese machines, which requires PASELI.
As the title implies, Spada†leggendaria contain songs with the artist named after a legendary sword from mythological or fantasy tales. These songs, along with the unlocking conditions, are:
Sword | Song | Date debut | Conditions |
---|---|---|---|
天叢雲剣 | Close the World feat.a☆ru | November 20th, 2013 | The FINAL STAGE song must be related to crosses, swords or knights, on either overlays, song name, artists and genre. (Eligible songs are: Almace, Ascalon, Destiny Sword, GOLDEN CROSS, GRID KNIGHT, LAX5 feat.Ryota Yoshinari, LETHEBOLG ~双神威に斬り咲けり~, one or eight, perditus†paradisus, SABER WING, THE BLACK KNIGHT, Xepher, †渚の小悪魔ラヴリィ~レイディオ†(IIDX EDIT), and 旋律のドグマ~Misérables~) |
Gram | Sigmund | January 1st, 2014 | The FINAL STAGE song must be composed by DJ Genki. |
Durandal | Ancient Scapes | February 3rd, 2014 | The FINAL STAGE song must be composed by DJ Noriken. |
Caladborg | invoker | March 3rd, 2014 | The FINAL STAGE song must be composed by USAO. |
Falsion | Feel The Beat | April 1st, 2014 | The FINAL STAGE song must be composed by DJ Shimamura (only Overload Frontier meets this requirement). |
KUMOKIRI | 疾風迅雷 | May 1st, 2014 | The FINAL STAGE song must be composed by OSTER project. |
Tyrfing | Verflucht | June 2nd, 2014 | The FINAL STAGE song must be composed by Hommarju. (Votum stellarum -Hommarju Remix-, an unlockable, is also allowed) |
To access a song, you must meet one of the following EXTRA STAGE requirements on FINAL STAGE in STANDARD. Similar to LIMIT BURST, charts are unlocked on weekly phases. As an addition requirement, the player's FINAL STAGE song must also fulfill another condition as stated above. The conditions to access Spada†leggendaria change based on the Phase it is in:
Phase | NORMAL | HYPER | ANOTHER | |||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Total Level | Clear Lamp | Total Level | Clear Lamp | Total Level | Clear Lamp | |
Phase 1 | unavailable | 33 | FULL COMBO | |||
Phase 2 | unavailable | 27 | HARD CLEAR or better | 33 | EX-HARD CLEAR or better | |
Phase 3 | 18 | ASSIST CLEAR or better | 27 | CLEAR or better | 33 | HARD CLEAR or better |
Phase 4 | No difficulty or clear requirements. | |||||
Failing any one stage will disqualify the player from accessing Spada†leggendaria. RANDOM or MIRROR modifiers may be allowed (except H-RANDOM). |
When a song enters Phase 4, they are given "†LEGGENDARIA" charts, which can be found on the LEGGENDARIA folder. These songs are harder versions of the ANOTHER charts, much like the BLACK ANOTHER charts in DJ TROOPERS CS and EMPRESS + PREMIUM BEST, and are colored magenta on the song title when selected in the music select screen. These charts can be played by spending six V-Discs.

Qprogue
Qprogue is SPADA's unlock event, introduced on December 25th, 2013 and ended on September 17th, 2014. It follows the events of ぼくらの宇宙戦争 (Our War of the Worlds) from beatmania IIDX 20 tricoro, where Q-pro finds itself in a hostile world after accidentally entering the Legend Cross portal.
There are eight weapon classes in all, each one doing specific bonus damage or special abilities:
- Traveler - default class. Once the Rainbow Knight class is obtained, you cannot use this anymore.
- Fighter - deals bonus Fire damage.
- Knight - deals bonus Earth damage, and required for using pickaxes to break rocks.
- Viking - deals bonus Water damage, and required to cross bodies of water between docks.
- Archer - deals Wind damage.
- Assassin - deals Dark damage.
- Cleric - deals Holy damage.
- Rainbow Knight - all elements.
Elemental weaknesses of monsters are color coded:
- Grey: no weaknesses.
- Blue: weak to Fire.
- Yellow: weak to Wind.
- Green: weak to Earth.
- Red: weak to Water.
- Purple: weak to Holy.
- White: weak to Dark.
You can also find the following on the map:
- Monster - unlockable charts and pickaxes are dropped by a selection of them.
- Temple - new weapon classes are gathered here.
- Rock - obstacles that can only be cleared with pickaxes. Pickaxes are consumed after each use and require the Knight class.
- Fountain - increases the level of the currently chosen class. As of Qprogue DX, this item does not appear anymore.
- Dock - cross a specific body of water to reach the opposite dock. Requires the Viking class.
- Cave - enter to unlock a new map.
- Turntable - collect to obtain a song's chart.
- Lithography - unique items found on each Qprogue DX map. Getting all six of them unlocks Maps 4-7. They also increase to Level MAX a single weapon class related to the opposite element of the Map (except for Traveler and Rainbow Knight).
Charts for boss songs are dropped by unique enemies found in fixed positions. These ones have much higher HP than normal enemies, depending on which difficulty chart they hold. You're rewarded with a Bronze Tran Medal when you find any chart; the "Last Dance ANOTHER chart" Turntable item rewards you with a Silver Tran Medal; the "煉獄のエルフィリア ANOTHER chart" Turntable item rewards you with a Gold Tran Medal.
MAP 2 introduces a new mini-game, accessed throughout unique Castle objects. The difficulty of the chart depends on the average of what levels have been played in the game session:
- NORMAL: level average less than 9.
- HYPER: level average less than 11.
- ANOTHER: level average of 11 or 12.
The songs played are as follows:
"BLUE DRAGON" songs
- I. 3y3s
- II. waxing and wanding
- III. Critical Crystal
"True Blue..." songs
- I. NEMESIS
- II. Votum stellarum
- III. Colors (radio edit)
Last Dance
- I. rage against usual
- II. V
- III. 嘆きの樹
煉獄のエルフィリア
You can access this Castle after unlocking all the ANOTHER charts of Qprogue songs (CS songs are excluded).
- I. 灼熱Beach Side Bunny
- II. 冥
- III. DIAVOLO
The seventh and final Qprogue DX mini-map, which is shaped like a sword, can only be accessed once all of the Lithography items have been found on the first six mini-maps.
Completing Qprogue rewards you 10100 DELLAR, the weapon classes' items as Q-pro parts and, lastly, a Plantinum Tran Medal.
