Latest revision as of 22:22, 25 November 2024

It is known that KONAMI has a habit of having songs that appear in earlier BEMANI games, such as data that contains graphics, charts, and even song cuts of unused licensed and KONAMI original songs, before their proper debuts. This page will list every known song that appeared earlier in some way (HDD data, location test, master song list, etc.) before its proper debut.

Note that unlike the Scrapped Songs page, this lists songs that only actually appeared in a final BEMANI game.

Songs are listed by the game they were going to debut on, not the game they finally appeared in. It also doesn't list songs that were going to be transferred to another BEMANI game when they originally were already in one (i.e. FLOWER being scheduled for beatmania IIDX 19 Lincle after its premiere in REFLEC BEAT and jubeat knit APPEND).

This page is under HEAVY construction. For songs whose movements aren't covered by official KONAMI sources, please use the Talk Page.

beatmania

beatmania 5thMIX -time to get down-

  • SKIN / CHARLOTTE
    • References to this song can be found on the beatmania 5thMIX data. Instead, it was later released months later in beatmania IIDX 3rd style (it never appeared as a playable song in the original beatmania series, though).

beatmania completeMIX 2

beatmania ClubMIX

beatmania IIDX

beatmania IIDX

beatmania IIDX 3rd style

  • A / D.J.Amuro
    • According to the song comments, the concept for A was thought up for 3rd style, but its release was put off until 7th style as KONAMI was afraid it would be too hard of a song for players at the time.

beatmania IIDX 9th style

  • Love Is Eternity / kors k
    • According to the song comments, Love Is Eternity was made for 9th style, but later ended up on 10th style instead.

beatmania IIDX 10th style

  • sakura storm / Ryu☆
    • Ryu☆ mentioned on the Resort Anthem website's page for the song that he considered porting sakura storm, a song he wrote around 1997, into beatmania IIDX 10th style. It instead premiered four years later in DanceDanceRevolution UNIVERSE3 touched up, though it did eventually appear in beatmania IIDX in beatmania IIDX 18 Resort Anthem.

beatmania IIDX 14 GOLD

  • evergreen / kors k
    • According to kors k's song comments on the DJ TROOPERS page for the song, evergreen was originally written for GOLD, but was submitted late and instead debuted in DJ TROOPERS.

beatmania IIDX 15 DJ TROOPERS CS

beatmania IIDX 17 SIRIUS

  • Macuilxochitl / TOMOSUKE
    • According to two tweets from Tomosuke's twitter account back in February 2011, Macuilxochitl was originally made for beatmania IIDX 17 SIRIUS. It was later remixed and became Almagest, while the original version of the song was used in jubeat ripples instead. Macuilxochitl would finally appear in beatmania IIDX nine years later in beatmania IIDX 24 SINOBUZ (albeit the jubeat ripples APPEND SOUNDTRACK album version of the song).

beatmania IIDX 20 tricoro

beatmania IIDX 21 SPADA

  • Broken Sword / 金獅子 VS 麒麟
    • Broken Sword was at first going to be part of SPADA's original Qprogue event, following up Last Dance's map. Reference data for it could be found in the Qprogue's map file, precisely in the cut Map 4 section; the song itself however never had ID data in the game itself. When QprogueDX was released, the unused last map of the original Qprogue event was purged, alongside all of its references. It eventually premiered in beatmania IIDX 22 PENDUAL's Chrono Seeker event.

beatmania IIDX 26 Rootage

  • 27th style / 三代目 "dj TAKA & DAYBREAKERS"
    • According to dj TAKA, 27th style was originally planned for Rootage, as 26th style, but it was postponed for undisclosed reasons until beatmania IIDX 27 HEROIC VERSE.
  • Horizons of Promise / BEMANI Sound Team "SPIRITUAL RIDE"
    • According to Horizons of Promise's sound comments, the song was supposed to debut in Rootage, but time constrains resulted in it not making it in. It instead appeared in beatmania IIDX 27 HEROIC VERSE.

beatmania IIDX 27 HEROIC VERSE

  • BEMANI PRO LEAGUE Theme / BEMANI Sound Team "Sota F."
    • As its title implies, BEMANI PRO LEAGUE Theme is the main theme of the BEMANI PRO LEAGUE event, originally scheduled to start in 2020. As the event was delayed to May 2021, the song was moved to 28 BISTROVER. Full chart and audio data for this song can be found in HEROIC VERSE, alongside an early version of its unique video.
  • バッド・スイーツ、バッド・ドリーム / かめりあ feat. ななひら
    • Dummied out data for this song can be found within the HEROIC VERSE files. It was meant to appear as the sixth song of the SHADOW REBELLION event, under the title of イリィガル・ベイス・メディスン. More details can be found here.

beatmania IIDX 28 BISTROVER

DanceDanceRevolution

DanceDanceRevolution

  • BOYS / SMiLE.dk
    • Appeared in the location test of DanceDanceRevolution, but did not appear in the final release. It instead debuted in DanceDanceRevolution 2ndMIX a few months later.
  • D2R / NAOKI
    • According to NAOKI, the concept for the song was originally made around the release of DanceDanceRevolution, but was shelved. It wasn't until DDRMAX2 -DanceDanceRevolution 7thMIX- where the idea of the song was revived, and it was heavily reworked along with adding in vocals.

DanceDanceRevolution 2ndMIX

  • XANADU / THE OLIVIA PROJECT
    • A different set of graphics can be found in the 2ndMIX data along with some charts, but the song is not playable. It later became playable in DanceDanceRevolution 3rdMIX.
    • Its charts are a copy of BUTTERFLY's charts, except for the Single BASIC chart (which is a repeated pattern of Up arrows) and the EXPERT charts (which are copies of its DIFFICULT ones).

Dancing Stage featuring DREAMS COME TRUE

Dancing Stage featuring Disney's RAVE

  • 5, 6, 7, 8 / (STEPS)
    • Text references to this song, as well as banner and charts, can be found in the Dancing Stage featuring Disney's RAVE data. The song later appeared in Dancing Stage EuroMIX2.

DanceDanceRevolution 4thMIX PLUS

DDRMAX2 -DanceDanceRevolution 7thMIX-

  • YOU LEAVE ME ALONE / Venus
    • Two entries for this song can be found in the DDRMAX -DanceDanceRevolution- master song list, one being grouped with the DDRMAX2 -DanceDanceRevolution 7thMIX- licenses. This entry was later removed from future master song lists.

drummania 2ndMIX

GUITARFREAKS 3rdMIX

GUITARFREAKS 5thMIX & drummania 4thMIX

    • TOMOSUKE confirmed that Lover's High was originally written for drummania 4thMIX. It instead debuted several months later in the short-lived MAMBO A GO GO. Lover's High would eventually appear in the GuitarFreaks & DrumMania series via ee'MALL 2nd avenue.
  • THE POWER OF LOVE / (Huey Lewis and the News)
    • Text references and unused charts for this license can be found in the GUITARFREAKS 5thMIX & drummania 4thMIX data, suggesting that it was supposed to debut one game earlier. The charts are also longer than their final counterparts, meaning that a different cut of the song was meant to be used.
