General Information / Changes
- Interface has lots of gold, as the name implies.
- First style to display a window above the Information tab (which shows the stage number and/or difficulty) that showed the Hi-SPEED setting used during the song in the gameplay interface.
- First appearance of REGUL-SPEED, which keeps the BPM at a constant 150, ignoring all BPM changes. Scores do not save while this is on.
- First appearance of ASSIST CLEAR, which classifies songs that have been passed with either 5KEYS or AUTOSCRATCH mods on as such. It is rated lower than EASY CLEAR.
- First appearance of Pitch modifier, which alters the pitch of a song, making it sound lower or higher in varying degree ranges from -4 to 4.
- Full combo has a rising gold splash.
- First style to have a dedicated US version (though it was never released). A proper US release for a beatmania IIDX game would not occur until beatmania IIDX 27 HEROIC VERSE near 13 years later.
- First beatmania IIDX game to allow two players to select different difficulties (e.g. one player playing NORMAL and the other player playing HYPER). However, not all songs are allowed due to the song containing different arrangements on different difficulties.
- First beatmania IIDX game where all of the ANOTHER charts from the default songlist rated Level 12 are hidden during initial release. These charts are unlocked on beat#2 (April 25th, 2007).
- Only beatmania IIDX game to put its final unlockable songs as the first tracks of its original soundtrack album.
- DJ Yoshitaka takes over as head sound director, which he would be until Resort Anthem.
- Yoshitaka also provides the default menu category voice through his Michael a la Mode alias.
- BOOM BOOM DISCO NIGHT, Heavenly Sun (IIDX VERSION), MOON, 虹色, and Pretty Punisher all have unique videos now.
- All remaining avex trax licenses in the arcade beatmania IIDX games have been removed.
- e-AMUSEMENT only:
- VIP Room available, which contains specific courses as well as new EXTRA STAGE/ONE MORE EXTRA STAGE songs, therefore making this the first style to feature more than one EXTRA STAGE/ONE MORE EXTRA STAGE.
- As such, both EXTRA STAGE events can be triggered within a same session if unlocking conditions are met at the same time. This practice continues until SIRIUS.
- GP system first used, which used "GP" earned from clearing songs to access a folder called IIDX RECORDS, which feature CS-only songs, new songs, and different crossover songs from other BEMANI games.
- GP system would not be used again until Resort Anthem under DELLAR in-game currency, which became a regular norm used till this day.
- VIP Room available, which contains specific courses as well as new EXTRA STAGE/ONE MORE EXTRA STAGE songs, therefore making this the first style to feature more than one EXTRA STAGE/ONE MORE EXTRA STAGE.
- Total songs: 454

EXTRA STAGE
GOLD sees the return of the regular EXTRA STAGE system after its absence in the previous game. To access the EXTRA STAGE system in GOLD, you must clear three songs with a AA rating or higher. The difficulties you are allowed to play depend on the total number of the levels of the three songs you played.
- NORMAL: 10 (Single), 7 (Double)
- HYPER: 20 (Single), 17 (Double)
- ANOTHER: 30 (Single), 27 (Double)
Clearing the EXTRA STAGE on ANOTHER with a AA rating and HARD on will then let you access the ONE MORE EXTRA STAGE.
The EXTRA STAGE system was discontinued as of beat#2 (April 25th, 2007), with both songs added to the IIDX RECORDS folder. Its interface can still be accessed by holding 2+6+9+13 when advancing to the EXTRA STAGE.

VIP ROOM
VIP ROOM is the secondary EXTRA STAGE system in GOLD, modeled after DistorteD's CARDINAL GATE system. As with CARDINAL GATE, an e-AMUSEMENT PASS is required to access it, and a warning screen about playing difficult songs will be displayed when the player selects the event folder (opening it will lock on the folder until the end of session). Each room has its own frame and unlock conditions:
Silver Room
- Clear 30 or more songs added in GOLD (IIDX RECORDS folder also count) within a specific difficulty (depending on which difficulty you want to play the Silver Room song on).
- For Double ANOTHER, HYPER charts will also count towards the total since 27 songs had Double ANOTHER charts.
Gold Room
- Play GOLD RUSH at least once within a specific difficulty (depending on which difficulty you want to play the Gold Room song on) with a DJ LEVEL A (or AA for ANOTHER). RANDOM, MIRROR or any Assist modifiers are allowed.
- NORMAL/HYPER: Clear at least two songs from each style with an A or better (for HYPER, Assist modifiers are not allowed).
- ANOTHER: HARD Clear at least two songs from each style with an AA or better (for Doubles, one song with an A or better).
Platinum Room
- Clear at least eight songs from the IIDX RECORDS folder (including Candy Galy, GOLD RUSH and VANESSA), with one song graded at least an A (AA for ANOTHER).
- Play Candy Galy at least once with an A grade or better. RANDOM, MIRROR or any Assist modifiers are allowed.
- Obtain a class of at least 3rd Dan, 6th Dan or 8th Dan for NORMAL, HYPER and ANOTHER, respectively.
- Accumulate at least 2000 or 1800 DJ POINTs for SINGLE and DOUBLE plays, respectively (these points are separate between play styles).
Black Room
- HARD clear all three rooms on ANOTHER with a AA or higher to access the ONE MORE EXTRA STAGE song. Note that all the VIP cards obtained for clearing the songs will be lost upon entry and players must repeat the process each time.
As of beat#3, the VIP ROOM songs were all added to the IIDX RECORDS folder (except for Sense 2007), and the VIP ROOM can no longer be accessed.
